Tunbridge High School has several very good measures in place to serve as far as possible in protection for children and safety for the school and its staff.

  • The Tunbridge Child Safety & Protection Committee comprising parents and teachers meets regularly to review safety measures

  • CCTV cameras are installed and the CCTV camera footage is viewed constantly

  • Security guards at entry and exit gates

  • Register of visitors entry and exit

  • Visitors entry tags

  • Restricted hours of entry

  • Permission slips for students leaving the school during class hours duly signed by the parent and endorsed by the Principal, Headmaster or Admin Officer

  • Students are not permitted to leave with anyone other than the parent

  • Students are not allowed near the gate during the lunch and tea breaks

  • Students are not permitted to be in possession of cell phones or cameras in school

  • Police verification has been done for all staff

  • SMS system for immediate communication from school to parent

  • Parents are immediately informed if a student is in need of medical care

  • In case a parent cannot be contacted the student is taken to the nearest hospital by a responsible staff member 

  • Vigilance officers in the primary , middle and senior section

  • Fire extinguishers are provided at strategic locations and regularly serviced

  • Staff & students are trained in emergency evacuation and all safety precautions explained

  • A well qualified and experienced Child Counsellor conducts counselling sessions in Child Care for parents and staff and is available for helping any student who is in need of counselling. Child help line numbers are displayed prominently next to the students complaint / suggestion box

  • Separately located toilets for staff, senior boys, senior girls, primary boys and primary girls
