Whereas the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination confers the Derozio Awards for exemplary service to school education and human enrichment to honour and motivate people to serve the nation in a manner that clearly defines leadership in an identified sphere;

 And whereas Mrs. Maureen Ojha, has dedicated a major part of  her life to the cause of school education;

 And whereas Mrs. Maureen Ojha, is an educator who has encouraged her students to participate in social work programmes so as to involve them in the art of nation-building; to sensitize them to the existing disparities in our society and to engage them as change agents;

 And whereas Mrs. Maureen Ojha, has been responsible for integrating and including specially abled children into main stream and creating, structuring and supporting learning experiences for them;

 And whereas Mrs. Maureen Ojha, is an exceptional and dynamic educator, who continues to be an inspiration for many;

 And whereas Mrs. Maureen Ojha, through her determination and dedication has established an institute which provides quality education;
